Hi, whenever I start the car, the clock display seems to be fine but after a while it'll automatically switch off and you can't see the time. Could it be that the battery is too weak/old?

If your car still runs then I am guessing clock is faulty. Stereo and car dies before the clock if battery is dying.

just a bimbo question dont worry bout it :)

A question tho , does the clockdim at the same time every time ? Or is it sporadic ?Anything you can think of contributes to it ? Your car is a ED yup ? Def electrical issue , i think its due to excess load on the alternator (ie old)

Ohh, nah this is my friend's car. Its a 89 prelude. Not really dim but when you're in dark areas like in car parks, you'll be able to see it.

check all grounds are not worn/frayed/old -check the running voltage of the alternator and battery too. Something is weakening the accessories. Do the dash lights slightly dim too ?Does the car idle slightly drop ?

if you can, swap batteries and see if that helps.

if it does, its new battery time

if it doesnt, its in the cars electronics

Oh okay one more question. I'm not sure what this symbol indicates. It lights up after 10-15mins of driving.

do as trism suggested - swapwith a known working battery and see if that cures the "issue".

What does the light look like ?
I think its the alternator checklight....battery is dead/dyingand isnt charging hence why the accessories are dimming.

Replace battery and or alternator
