Hi guys,

Does anyone know or have tried using the 94RON Shell e10 Ethanol blend fuel?

I have checked with the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industry website (www.fcai.com.au) and they have noted that the fuel is compatible to be used. I have yet to confirm with Honda Australia although i suspect that they will just mention to use fuel that is rated 95RON or better.

FYI, it is approx 4c a litre cheaper than the standard unleaded (91RON).

Regards

Kenbo

slightly off topic, but is there such thing as a "bad batch" of petrol?

Yes. A friend found his s2000 running lumpy and went to have it checked. Turned out Scotts Atarmon had traced the problem, based on other customers' anecdotes, to the Shell at Chatswood.

There can be a bad holding tank at the petrol station (mixes with water), or there can be an unscrupulous petrol station which mixes 98 with some 91 to make a bit of profit.

If you stick to the brand name fuels you're fairly safe.
