lost Keyless Remote for 97 Civic

hello, first time poster here:wave:

l'm looking for a keyless remote for a 97 model civic. would anyone know wheres a good place to get it from? Roughly how much are they worth? is it easy to be programmed to the car?

any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. and if anyone has one lying around send me a pm:thumbsup:

yeh the remote for the central locking...that thing on your keys that you press to unlock the car, i need a new one of them.:thumbsup:

is the remote you lost for an oem cdl kit/alarm?
for some cars you can program other oem remotes to match your system.

yeh its an oem central locking system, would you know where i can buy another oem remote?

honda dealership, and go to the parts section.

if your lucky they will program it for u

umm i didnt think 97 came with remote central locking m8, if it ever had a remote i think its dealer delivered aftermarket

You r right ... my 97 sedan dint come with remote central locking.
Only with central locking from the driverside door.

Then i got it installed a "Black Widow" remote control system.

the civic did come with an option for remote central locking. correct me if im wrong but i heard its built into the stock radio or something?

Does your remote have HONDA or the Honda emblem on it? If not, i'd suspect it's an aftermarket alarm/central locking remote kit.

If it's not a genuine honda item then your best bet is to find the brand of the kit (either on the remote or look under your dash for the central locking/alarm control unit and) then try to get in contact with the manufacturer of the kit or a supplier and see if they can order in a replacement remote.

That's what I did with mine, albeit $150 later...

hrmm maybe you guys are right...coz i have never seen a remote for this car, i just assumed it had a remote because it had central locking, so i maybe wrong

anyway thanks for all the help, i really wanted that remote but ohh well:(
