So.. UNSL1 when can we expect the 09s to arrive and is that white LE likely to make it to our shores?

Also, any chance the boat carrying the cooking model civic hatches sinks?

Nax

i would say sometime in 09!

i wouldnt hold your breath on the white LE,

Big thanks to the OP for pointing out the Honda sale - I hadn't seen any advertising from Honda about it! I wasn't intending on purchasing a new car until late November at the earliest, possibly waiting until the refresh. But I saw this thread here yesterday, and decided to jump ahead in the schedule by a month.

Went down to the local dealership, and got a far better deal on a new FN2R than I was expecting. The salespeople just kept throwing stuff in! Honestly, I didn't even have to try :D which works fine me!

This is what I got

The special they have at the moment is including the following with the standard price of the car at 39,990:

12months rego & CTP
5 Year Honda warranty
24 Hour Roadside assist (not quite sure how long that lasts for though, will need to look into it)
Dealer Delivery and stamp duty

I got the car in Black with the following accessories:
Emblem Set
Accent Lighting
Floor Mats
Rear Parking Sensors
Lock Nuts Set

Plus I got the following as part of a "Six star protection package":
Paint Sealant
Fabric & Carpet Sealaant
Vinyl & Leather Sealant
Electronic Rust Modult
And had Window Tinting added to the package for free.

For the whole lot, they quoted $43,450. I signed the deal at $42,380.

Couldn't be happier :D

I didn't get the iPod cable cause its a rip-off, and I heard the bluetooth system is rubbish. I plan on replacing the head unit down the track to a satnav & bluetooth system anyway.

Sorry but that is plain poppycock. I paid 43k and got nearly every accessory available - including front and rear splitter - on a NEW (not demo) FN2R.

And that was six months ago!

I think you could've done better - in any case the car is a good one and as long as you are happy, it's all good.

Ok that is a very good deal :)

I wouldn't say I got raped though. It would have been cheaper too if i didn't get the protection packages (I saw no mention of such in your post...)

Either way, I'm happy with the price as its much less than I thought I was going to get. Oh and hello I'm new here :D

Yeah I edited my post. It was a bit harsh. :(

Again, no offense but dealer protection is pretty much snake oil, mate. Go for Ozi Cozi (http://www.ozicoz.com.au) if you want real protection - 6 months and no stone chips on protected area.

And my advice is get it done the day you drive it home. FN2 paint chips just by being looked at. :thumbdwn:

good luck to changing ur headunit. if ur planning on ways to completely remove the stock headunit, i'd really like to hear of ur progress. i took mine apart today to install the dension GW300, installation went fine, it charges my iphone but i get no response from the headunit, and im already so frustrated. and i would possibly need to take it apart again to fix it when the replacement kit comes in.
