Went out to WSID for 2nd time since K swap still with toyo street tires and standard suspension.

The car weighed in at 1033.5kg without driver.

It was a good night, all up i got 8 runs!

Launching at 2500rpm i kinda got 1st gear worked out with little bit of wheelspin but 2nd gear is completely no traction, Flat shifting 3rd, 4th and 5th gear i ran a best time 12.907 @ 111.23mph with 1.973 60 foot.

The other runs were all around 13.0 - 13.2.

Hopefully next time i will have good suspension and SLICKS!

 every single weight reduction counts. Been there , done that.
I used to get stuck with 12 sec pass . Weight reduction help alot , do it all out not just taking seat and trims out.

Yeah unless you are after every last tenth, then it is hardly worth it. It would be really interesting to see what a K motor would do in a light chassis...

I finally got to run with full slicks tonight at WSID.

On my last run of the night i got a 12.77 @ 104mph with 1.87 sixty foot for a new PB!
I had launch control set at 5500rpm. My first few runs i couldnt get traction on take off so i took off with less rpm. As the night went on the car was gripping heaps better. Take off at almost full acceleration but still bogging down. Need to raise launch control and hopefully get a 1.7 sixty foot! 12.6 is the next target...

mr_vtec
28-01-2009, 10:49 PM
man i can tell you all they need is a bigggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg burn out and they will get you 1.714 60ft like i did with out traction bars or nuffin..

good luck next outing..

thanks mate.

i think when you launch well with slicks you lose mph but get better ETs. i think if you spin off the line you get a higher rpm.

mr_vtec

not enough revs from the sounds of things..

29-01-2009, 05:36 PM
Any car will run less mph when it gets a better 60ft. Its just the way it works.

Well done on the time and nice to meet you. More revs everywhere and mid 12's will be your friend. :)
