hey guys
Heres my question who has made a custom enclosure to keep a bit more cold air into the K&N pod filter for my da9 b18b right near the battery? any pics or tips will be helpful thanks
because im sucking hot air and as its getting hotter any cold air is better
Cheers

sounds like you got a short ram dude not a CAI. A real CAI will have the pod outside the engine bay most of the time in the guard or front bumper.

CAI with box enclosure u can make it just buy a shielded POD filter :) e.g. BCM CDA or those from autobarn :D instead of wasting money to fabricate one

its a semi CAI lol its got the cold air coming from under it the resonator is gone .. so i just need a enclosure to keep it cooler

but in the end its still a SRI
i was thinkign something like this

but cover the top up aswell any one else got something like that

get some cardboard and make up a template to go over the top and around it
then make that out of fibreglass or even metal.

well i ended creating a enclosure with some metal lying around.. and re routed my piping towards the opening of the bumper its changed my acceleration and in 4th and 5th gear

nice work i did the same with my coupe but enclosed it in a box with a cold air feed running to the front of the bumper, definitely picks up better in the higher rev range.

here you go i made another one this time for my dc2r out of fiberglass. It took me so long to get it smooth. I designed it to fit a stock honda filter

my 10 minute $3 job. 1/2 a metre of 100mm storm water pipe from bunnings. only had white so i sprayed it matt black. unbolt resonator bottle etc (done previously) shoved one end in the existing hole and trimmed to fit into bottom of air box other end zip tied to position the end right at my front bar side air dam. done.

besides the intake noise coming from the front bar and dirtier filter only placed i can say i've gain is up in 4th and 5th gear where the air must be force fed into the intake. my intake is air tight so i need to be a bit weary of water lock
