Hi all
Just looking at the market value for a few cars , and i stumble across this.
http://redbook.com.au/used-cars/details.aspx?__Nne=15&__sid=11D104F92BA3&R=70384&__N=0%204294956040%204294967220%204294965872&__Ns=p_Make_String%7c0%7c%7cp_ClassificationType_S tring%7c0%7c%7cp_Family_String%7c0%7c%7cp_Year_Str ing%7c1%7c%7cp_SequenceNum_Int32%7c0&Cr=2
Tell me if the link doesnt work, i know u can all search it urself.. lol
But anyways, it says the market value for DC2R is now $11500. Now i know you all are thinking, OMGWTFBBQ GET F*CKED. (my reaction)
Thinking more objectively about it, the DC2R is now approaching 10years of age, many are thrashed out (not all).
Why are we not seeing them for sale at this price!?
PS. DC5R is valued at 19k.
red book isnt always 100% accurate from what i've seen. i bought my 99 dc2 in black a few months ago. at that time red book said it was worth 12.5k to 13.5k IIRC. best to go buy what a lot of the ads on carsales say. also if you are looking to buy a new car dont be too afraid to low ball. cars arent selling too well atm and people will negotiate more.

well nearly 10 years old now and hitting the 200 km mark too
so that would be the lowest average price doesnt always means the price of a good cond one

redbook doesnt take into account social interests and all. for example how much a corrola ae86, really worth 100 bucks, but because of initial d , and drifting populairty its costs more now. and also price as lan said will probably be more for a good condition one

redbook also thinks every car depreciates like a commodore that is why the price is so low

red book is a price guide , what you get for a trade in from a dumb shit car salesman , privately they are worth more. mines got 130,000 and new motor 10k ago still worth 11.5 k ? i dont think so.

yes
if u put a new motor in ur car you have devalued it already.. unless its more superior to a b18c7???
car would have been worth more with the original b18c7 then another b18c7

good point , but thats what happens when you race at phillip island sometimes at least it was a brand new factory motor.

No its not - its an objective guide that incorporates the average annual mileage into consideration.
It doesnt incorporate the fact that 90+% of ITR owners believe their cars are still worth 20+ due to "hectik" mods and cause it's "baller"

A car is worth what someone will pay for it.
If someone will pay 21k for a dc2r, then its worth 21k.
