okay so while performing a u-turn or getting out of tight parking spots(you know what i'm talking about ron) i can hear a whirring around while in motion
seems to only happen on full locks to the right but not left
sounds sorta like the tyre is rubbing on something but i checked and theres nothing in the way

anyone had a similar problem and want to share thoughts?

Two thoughts - tyre rubbing (which you have said it isnt) or CV joint.

yeah i had suspected cv joint, just wanted someone else to confirm

so the cv joint can also make rubbing noises?
will probably change out the shaft this week and see what happens

Might be the rim rubbing the upper rubber or the inner splash guard.
I know mine does on full lock to the inner gaurd, kind just ignore it now.
Check the CV for wear. They usually don't rub though

strangely enough raised the car and spaced the rim out a bit and still have the problem
i can physically see it not scrubbing nor are there any rub marks
might have to take a loser look tonight

^^^lol midnight mech.

got a sound clip? coz the only other 'whirring' i know apart from whats already been said is the power steering pump which has bubbles.. this is already ruled out because you said it is only in motion and to the right which by process of elimination puts it down to the cv... but i too didn't know they make a 'whirring' noise.... more like metallic scrapage?
