ok, so i atm i'm thinking of getting SRI, but don't have the funds atm, having to pay for insurance and the rest of that shiet.

with the stock intake, i unhooked it and had a look under the filter box.. is that the resonator? looks like a plastic pan or somecrap? if i take that out, would it make more induction noise?

if that isn't it, where is it? and is it safe to take out the resonator and still use stock intake?

id say thats the resonator
with that out it will make a slightly louder noise, but not as loud as a pod filter would etc.

its safe to have stock airbox without the resonator.
i had mine with stock airbox and no resonator for a while.

yup just has a deeper tone to it when u give it, not really any suction noise

I heart the SSS

As above.

You'll get a nicer note, good tie over until you get your intake Micheal.

read the for taking out the resonator

lol, feel like just going to mechanics, undoing the bolts, lifting the car up and just ripping it out from underneath. so lazy

you say you cant afford A SRI setup, but you can afford to take it to the mechanics for a easy 20min job that you can do at home?

diy and save your money and buy a CAI!

oh nah nah, the mechanics is my mates, just go there for free, give him 10$ for time lol..

btw, if i take out the resonator, wouldn't that leave my intake prone to water and dirt? cause i thought thats what resonators do, keep dirt and water out.. or am i wrong

there will be no way dirt and water can go near your pod if its in your engine bay.
even if it did the intake cannot produce enough negative pressure to suck it into the engine.

lolwut?

the filter keeps water and dirt out, thats why its called the filter

the resonator does what its name suggests. same concept as resonator in exhaust, helps muffle noise

the only way water may get sucked in is if the pod is 50-100% submerged in water, running a CAI setup like injen or aem.
even then your intake needs to produce a heck of alot of neg pressure to for water to make its way up the lengthy bends etc..

^^ agreed.
dont stress, just take it out :)
