Removing part of steering wheel

Hey guys,

Im looking at removing the silver parts on the steering wheel and re painting them, as the silver on mine is peeling off, as you can see on the left hand side of the pic.

Does any one know if these can be removed and if so how?

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, look below.

lol i scratched all mine off...

u need a Phillips head and theres 2 holes on back ... top and bottom... and it clips out..

hard to unclip and hard to reclip =D

how do you guys manage to scratch that bit lol?

Thats how I bought my car. My guess would be coz of sun damage?

mine has a bit of wear on the cruise side (no where near as severe as yours) when i bought mine too.
