so i got a new clutch today. its soo different from my old clutch. after i push it in it like pops out more, which doesnt allow me to release the clutch slowly unlesss im concentrating on it lol, i guess im just used to the old soft one.

is this normal? and the distance the clutch has to be pushed down has changed as well as the pressure required to push it.

Well it is a new clutch, so obviously its going to feel different to what it did.
What kind of clutch did you get?
How punchy it is and the friction point will have all changed depending on the type of clutch that you got.

Just give yourself time to get used to it.

yer just got a standard one cuase my mechanic said i would have to wait longer for the heavy duty one and ive been living without my car for nearly a week and i jus wanted it done so yet....

what does machining the flywheel do???
cause i got charged extra for that and he also charged me for a seal which was leaking and a bearingg

Machining the flywheel is recommended if you are changing the clutch but using the original flywheel. It levels the surface so that deposits or uneven wear is removed and a flat surface is prepared for the new clutch.

Which seal was leaking? Main bearing seal?

^^^yep... same thing with brake rotors.

the seal he would have changed is the rear main crank seal between gearbox and flywheel. these don't cost much and is one of those things 'you may as well' while your at it

did you mech also change the clutch FLUID ?

Its important to have fresh DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid in your clutch reservoir and system. Any air or moisture absorbed can give less than ideal clutch feel and operation

i've never come across this and mines due anyway... what does it feel like benny? kinda like spongy brake feel? and i'm guessing it will also suffer the same in the sense of 'bite' as in the clutch won't disengage properly if there was air?

air will result in the clutch feeling abit loose and abit of a change in the engagement point.

Spongy and the bite point goes lower to the floor. Sort of like a mild leaky master cylinder. :p
