fast N/A civic?

hey guys i have a ek1 civic sedan with a d16 engine. does this car have any real potential without major work like turbo and engines swaps. i find it pretty hard to keep up with my mates dc2 vtir and impreza rs and stuff like that. what can i do???

u can upgrade power but ull lose out bottom end tho , have u got d16y1 or y8 first go y8 head and intake manifold then upgrade internals of head depended on budget ...

i think it will even out if u take it to the twistys up the mountain, unless the teg guy have no fear of death haha. take him at low speed corners like up mountain hwy or black spur.
impreza rs n vtir isnt that much faster then ur ek man...u only loose when vtec kicks in n its hard to keep it in vtec thru corners.
lol like my corolla sportivo went off the mountain when lift hits just before existing the corner up mt hwy.

EK1 sedans came in GLi and VTi, the GLi DOESNT have VTEC and the VTi is only a SOHC vtec, its about fuel saving lol not going BAAAAA

well its a good base to start on even though it may need more mods than others. i reckon do your suspension, wheels, tyres and brakes first and maybe some bolt on mods to your engine. then after that maybe you will be off your p's and you can do a dohc vtec swap.
