When driving my car makes a whistling sound as accelerating through gears. Just wondering what it is, if anyone can guess or has some advice would be much apreciated cheers

know where the sounds coming from?

have a cai, aftermarket filter, sri or anything like that?

ur sound system if u had one recently installed .. sometimes amps n stuff or speakers not installed properly can have a light whistle when acceleration ..

Yea.. if your sound cords running from your headunit to your amp are too close to the power cord running from your battery to your amp then sometimes when u accelarate your speakers make a funny noise in line with how hard u accelerate.

true, but then it doenst explain the sound when decelerating, its exactly the same when slowing down. It has been there since i bought the car, I have a pod filter, but it sounds too loud to be it.. it almost sounds like an old school kettle boiling. Ill probably just take it to get a service but yeah was just wondering if it was something that can be easily fixed. Ill check to see if it is the sound cords but it does sound like its coming from engine bay. cheers.

easiest way to tell is turn off ur soundsystem... :-S did you try that lol

short ram intake or electrics issue with speakers, if speakers get a good grounding kit should fix. if short ram intake learn to luv it..... lol

if its coming from the engine then im pretty sure its coming from the throttle body, mostly b series motors are like that
