hey i just put new headers on my civic just to give it that little bit more go while im saving for my b18cr, and it could be the fact that there el cheapo ebay special ones. but theres a realy obvious leaking noise. i asked the mechanic to put them on for me because ive had no time to f**k around with cars latly. i told him to look at it again and he swears black and blue that there is no leaks or anything.. when i get the chance im gunna pull them out and get the old drill out and smoothe the inside of them due to some average welds making the internal parts a bit rough around the flanges. could that maybe be the cause of the sound or what else do you guys think could be making it? all the gaskets are brand new and all bolts are fully tight. the standard headers i had welded to the cat so maybe when he welded these ones he did do a dodge job.. so dont flame me asking me if ive checked out everything because the cars not with the right now this is just a little bit of a trouble shooting thing. its a bit shamefull cruising around when it sounds like my headers are ziptied to my cat lmao... any ideas?

Take it to an exhaust shop. They'll verify and pin-point where they're leaking from and probably weld up the leak for a reasonable price.

check around the welds and see if you can see any carbon build up

its either exhaust manifold bolts that connects to the b pipe or ur flange gasket between the extractors and b pipe

alot of the cheaper headers are made of stainless steel & very thin.
They make this swooshing noise due to the thin walls. Is that what your taking about?
Very common issue
Also if there is a leak there will be carbon buildup & if the exhaust is up on the hoist you can feel the air come out. Check it out first
