HI all,
I've been driving my dc2 vtir for more than 1 yr now. I've known that it had been riding on Eibach Prokit Springs (Black ones) since the day I bought it.
However, a search on the Eibach catalogue suggests a 1.3 inch drop front and back..

The problem is that my ride seems to have more drop infront then in the rear..also.. it seems awfully low for a prokit ...(it had no finger gap at all infront) rolling on 195/55/R15s ... A visual inspection on full turn revealed that the there were 3-4 top coils that were compressed.. (a tyre place i took it to suggested that the springs might have been heated and compressed before to achieve such a height)

Any of you guys here have any idea how much drop a Eibach prokit is supposed to have ? Should I be replacing my fronts with new eibachs instead ?

Many Thanks to those who can help ...
Cheers

its common,
after awhile, it generally drops just that little more...

i think the top 3 or 4 springs r compressed looking because u have a progressive type spring.

also pretty sure these kinds of springs make your car 'rake'

i'm on kings lows and the back is slightly higher than the front

OP , its normal. Front and rear springs are progressive (variable rate) - the TOP coils are very close together and the middle and lower are further apart. Dont worry about it.

Read up on WHY they are called "progressive springs" here

Thanks people .. :) That really set my mind at ease...

Trism .. FYI.. there are people who heat up the springs and compress them to get a lower ride height ... (For that to happen the springs would have to be heated till its soft enough .. e.g. slightly melted.. )

Many Thanks for the info guys..

they are not melted...heated up enough to alter the overall static length. But its not a good thing as im sure it weakens the metals properties
