Fellas,

Which 03- 05 Front Lip do you Prefer:

1. OEM

2. JDM EuroR

I can get my hands on both and I can't decide... but the EuroR Lip is ~$300 more expensive than OEM

what sides + rear will you be using?

imo the oem gives the car a more classy look whereas the euror provides the sport image.

I personally like the oem lip better, But for the 'rare' factor i would go Euro R lol.

if you're going to be using the euro r sides and rear then go euror front.

the oem front has more curvature and will not match with the euro r flares.

oem for sure

i was faced with this decision - oem way better

I'd go for the euro-r. It flows with the car so much better. The oem looks like a cheap protrusion off the front bar imo. Each to their own, i like the smoothe look of the cl9, which is why i'd go euro-r without a doubt :)

JunYu

^ lol i would have thought the oem would best be described as smooth.

Each to their own...

:p lol

But yeh, if euro-r sides and rear, i would probably go euro-r because there is a slight curve in the euro-r skirts as compared to the oem.

I have seen euro-r front with oem sides and rear but not the other way around. Maybe you can give it a shot, might look nice.

indeed it is, but for the 03-05 i think both oem and euroR looks better than mugen.

I agree, both kits are look good and better than Mugen kit. I saw a black Euro with Mugen style kits, it looks too fat and not smooth on Euro. I got a OEM kits and better match with the car. I got it from JunYu. Still waiting the plastic trim to come. He sold the kit for me without the plastic trims for side skirts. Make sure you get a whole kit. otherwise very hard to get the parts separate.

im really keen on a font OEM lip for my 05. But honda want $430 it unpainted. Bit pricey. I like the mugen front lip addon also but dunno if you can source in oz.

Where is good place to get quote on OEM kits? I checked a couple of Honda dealers in Brissie and they were wayyy to expensive

I'm in Perth. Where do I purchase an OEM kit here? I'm trying to avoid going to the dealer as it would be expensive.

Will you be getting the OEM side-skirts and rear lip?

If not, the Euro-R front lip flows better with the stock side-skirts/no rear lip (IMO anyway)

Ive seen oem and euro-r front lip and stock side and rear, didnt look too bad.

However, i think the mugen lip would look ridiculous with stock sides and rear. Would look like a snow plow imo

IMO the Mugen completely spopils the natural lines of the CL 9. I think the Euro R Grille also suits the CL 9 much better than the Mugen as well. I have never liked the deep profile or the cut out for the release of the Mugen as it looks cheap.

thats because the mugen kit you found is for the 06+ models. The member is after a kit for the 03-05 :p

BTW i think euro-r for sure. The oem is just too simple, common and i dont like how it protrudes like a duck bill.

every1 has their own opinions as to what kit you should choose, but i think its simple u have two choice, a smooth sleek look, more towards a simple classy look or a litte bit more xtreme with the R kit, its a bit more detailed and has that sportier look IMO i like both to be quiet honest, but once again i recon it depends on the style like my euro will look stupid with the euro R kit i have a smooth simple look, where as some other ones i have seen look awsome with the euro R Kit :)

do you have to rearrange the fog lights when installing the oem kit?

CL9 = K24 Engine
CL7R = K20A Engine

If i am not wrong , the K24 is an upgraded version of the K20 engine.

The ECU is de-tuned from the K20A engine , the intake manifold is also different and the pistons are also different in Compression Ratio.

Maybe this is where the extra 20 ponies come from!!!!!

Hope it helps.
