Im just sharing my latest purchase with all of u guys. Its a COMP Cams #59300 with spec's:

Advertised Duration: 260/268 Duration @ 0.050'': 220/216 Gross Lift Lobe: 455/430

Stock spec's are:
Advertised Duration: 244/228 Duration @ 0.050'': 208/192 Gross Lift Lobe: 384/370

These are rebadged by Zex these days, under the Quicktyme name and has increase lobe ramps for hard hitting valve lift producing more torque from 2000-7800. I decided not to upgrade the rest of the valvetrain while i was at it because of many issues;s and money id didnt want to spend. I am sticking with a stock revlimit so everything should be sweet anyways. Ive heard many reports with it and forced induction, the american's claim 10-15hp N/A (stock) and 20-30hp atw can be gained when forced, i'll be happy with a wholy increased power curve and hopefully a 5-10kw on the peak.

One thing i havnt decided yet is to run an aftermarket ajustable cam gear. i will have this dyno tuned as soon as the new cam goes in, and add a little more boost while im at it (12psi *crazy grin*) but im not sure if i need the cam gear or not. im hopeing the cam runs as spec and i dont peak power to early.

Just some info on the purchase - it cost me $360AUD shipped from Atlanta Crankshaft (.com or ebay). Took 6 days via USPS. These are good guys, i rang them up and did this via credit card after some inital paypal confusion (they gave me a discount to compensate). Good guys, highly recommend them- friendly and speedy!

my cams are 268/9.7mm IN and 254/9.7mm EX

or maybe im having trouble reading the specs
260/268 Duration @ 12.5mm Lift?

Weq

na. im leaving a stock revlimit and i should be fine. ive only heard of one valvetrain(stock) dying from the cam, and it was due to install problems.

vti-rt: 125kw @ 8.5psi
im hopeing to run this cam + 12psi next dyno tune.

HAHAHA

it isnt a zex copy, zex have a deal with COMP cams to resell them for more money.

What is the lift on the stock cams?

oh ok den :~

is it true that u should expect a power incresase of about 10hp from 2500rpm to 7800rpm?? not just a peak power increase??

Weq

its really hard to say with stock ecu, when tuned you should be looking at 10 - 15% or more depending on tune and cams.

Hi Weq

Zex website states you can't use stock Valve sping with there stage 2 cam No:59300
What springs are you using and are Zex springs as good or better than Crower?

Thx Luke
