jdm sir differences

hey guys.. i was jus wondering wat were the differences between a jdm sir and the ausdm eg's?? (besides the engine :rolleyes: )

i know of the following (plz correct me if im wrong)

power folding side mirrors, white cluster face, and a brake light on the rear wing. i also think that the headlights and the taillights are different but im not sure

As well as the things you've said, (the aus spec has a brkae light in the rear wing, but just not as large as the JDM one) there is as far as i know...

- Climate Control unit
- Arm rest rear of the handbreak
- Extra coin slot thingie on the dash? (correct me?)
- Gathers cd player
- Gathers twin rear speakers on the back seat pannels
- not sure if all but ive seen SIRs with built in gather tweeters in the door trims
- the boot/back of the rear seats are made of hard plastic rather than gay wood + felt and can be folded down to provide a neat, larger boot space
- The headlights are different yes (some come equipt with ambers also)
- Rear lights most are identical from wat i know, however ive seen some that have no amber on the rear, its all clear? but i think they're aftermarket
- the Front and rear seats are different design (shape) and matieral ..
- Some/alot come equipt with JDM foglights (i think an factory option)
- SIR has a larger rear wing

Ive also seen an JDM EG Vti it had all these features plus
- Heater button on the mirrors (for icey days in japan :P)
- Ariel that upon a push of a button a green mini ariel ascends from the top left area of the car (just infront of the headlight) .. used for parking in pitch black so you can see where your car is so i hear.. but then headlights? ...

Im sure theres more... its JDM yo! JDM is always filled with goodies.. i wish i had OEM JDM :(..

ok I own a JDM EG5 Si.

The only difference between the Si (as far as interior goes) different boot mouldings and compartments in the rear arm rests... I belive just ash trays. When you fold down the rear seats the whole lot match up evenly to creat what looks like a flat bed.

There were a lot of extras offered in both... my Si has
-Different head rests(front)
-rear head rests
-auto climate control
-Graphic Equaliser
-Front Tweaters
-6inch front speakers
-4x5.5inch rear speakers.
-stacker
-seat belt alert
-180km/h speedo with required extras
-Fold in mirrors
-LED rear wing
-Flat side indicators
-Fog lamps
-Front lip
-ZC instead of d16a8
-14x5.5wheels instead of 14x5
-more bucketed rear seats

the SiR had on top of this
-15x5.5 wheels
-larger front disks and calipers
-front tower strut
-different head lights
-drivers airbag (released in nov 91, only released in 94ish in aus, and only in VTi)
-white cluster, different features on the cluster
-traction control
-LSD
-Push button start
-imobiliser
-flatter rear seats (no head rests)
-different interior trim material

thats all i can think of off the top of my head, i can have a look in the drivers manual tomorow.

whoa.. thanx alot Sir JDM and SIKCVC... pretty full on list there, jus shows u how much i know.. hahahaha.. i only knew of like 5, and u guys have like 50

so did the sirs come wid traction control, LSD, and a Push button start standard?

NO pushbutton Starts on EG's.. LSD is OPTIONAL.

SiR headlights are Plastic - not glass.. and use different 'H4' Bulbs.
SiR tail-lights are same as AUS but have an extra reflector patch on the side.
SiR side-markers are thinner than AUS.
SiR has front and rear stabilizer bars.
SiR has urethane front-lip spoiler standard.
SiR Rear-wing also protrudes longer than AUS.
SiR has concave surfaced mirrors (also elec. folding as mentioned above).
SiR has amber-tinted Glass.
SiR has OPTIONAL TCS (traction Control)
SiR has Optional ABS
SiR has Amber-lit dials and clock etc.
SiR-S has Momo Steering wheel.
SiR-S has colour-coded interior (some models) with seam-less seats.
SiR-S has the FULL Gather's stereo system.
SiR-S has Left and right wind-deflectors around the windows.

um.. there's a few more small things that I cant think of right now
