Rudy

I am looking to drop accord 08 as the gap is really bugging me after getting new wheels. I dont want to sacrifice that much comfort but I want a noticable drop of more than 1 inch. I am a newb when it comes to suspension.

Wondering if someone could help me in the parts i need to buy that are most suitable for this model and what im after. Also is there a good store to go to, or best to buy online?

thanx so much!
Mike

Thanx, I spoke to some people and was quoted King spring at 450 and 750 for eibach pro kit installed. The problem is I have quite a large gap..do you think eibach will be enough. My gap from top of tyre to well is 3.5 inch in rear and 2.75 in front!

Or should I get D2 coil over ? How much of a drop can it give you and where can you get it?

Thanx

mine is a 2.4litre....

for pro-kit it only lowers by 1.2" for the front and 1" for the rear..... i dun think this is low enuf....

for sportline-kit it lowers by 1.5" for the front and 1.4" for the rear.... this is the one that i would go for....

as for king springs, i was advised it would lower the car by around 1.5" both front and rear...

i have measured my car and if both front and rear are dropped by 1.5" the gap would be just nice.... probably around two fingers gap between the tyres and the guards... plus when the car is on the road, the gap should drop by another half an inch.....

currently the rims on my car are the oem 17"...... i m postponing to lower the car atm cos i might get another car pretty soon and if i do get another one then i wont touch the accord.....

also bare in mind that if you are after a drop more than 2" it's
recommended that you change your shocks as well.
i drive an 07 accord with the sportline kit...works a treat and the
drop i quite nice...was once a 4WD.

YEh agree..even if I get a nice drop with the eibach id still need to soon replace shocks if the drop is big enough and there are no aftermarket ones yet. So am going to order coil over. Thanx for the advice! Btw, Dyljoy you car looks amazing but why selling so soon?

damn! that indeed is a very nice drop.
you might want to wait a while see if there are other
reliable brands such as teins etc... for the coilovers

im pretty sure te new accord (euro) has the same suspension as the older CL9.
That means all springs , shocks and coilover systems will fit it.

Unfortunately i have the v6 and eibach arent releasing sportsline for that. For now, im looking at either King or eibach pro kit.

Thinking of maybe coilover instead..there is a Ksport kit out for the new accord that can be had on ebay now. D2 is the only other one but seems not that reliable.

Also I dont know if this is true, but Ive heard that the v6 gets more of a drop on the pro kit than the I4. Heres a pic from a forum ..guy with v6 on 19s claims just pro kit installed. Havnt been able to find any other v6 pics tho.

looks really good.... hm.... i dunno but i still think that car is dropped more than a mere 1"...... even with the 19".....

is the new V6 accord also same suspension as CL9? how about the exhaust and intake? wheels offset and studs pattern?

dyljoy

i think the suspension may not be the same as CL9. exhaust and intake as well. about the wheel, original one is 114.3x5, 17x7.5

So went with Ksport coilovers. Done on Fri. 3+ in drop. Am satisfied with the choice. Springs would not have been enough.

HAHa tru that. They are 19 x 8 on there. Am going to try to get alignment done this week. Do you think the tuck is too much? Its grown on me and i like it but worried about possibly camber issues. No kit out yet!

nice.. i think the car is sitting at a perfect height.. i'm just curious whether you would need a camber kit or if there are kits out there for the accord as I know with the CL9 euro, that if you go too low, you'll need a camber kit..

hi Rudy, saw u r using Sumitomo tyres. r they good on dry n wet? sourcing a set atm....

Id definitely recommend them (sumi Z3 only). Grip is very good. Wet slightly less than dry though. You wont be disappointed thats for sure. And the value for money is very hard to beat. Some tests (tirerack.com) even ranked them #1 against toyo, potenza, etc.

Are you only looking at sumis? Falken 452 is another good choice. Supposed to be very superior wet and dry grip.

Damn IF anyone knows of a rear camber kit that would be compatable with this Id be so happy. All i know is that someone told me it needs a rod and that could be similar to 7th accord, VW , s2k, but length is the issue.
