when i unplug the VAFC my engine warning light stays on is this because it knows some thing is different or because it senses that there is an open circuit??

should it fix itself??

also if i just leave one of the plugs plugged in the vafc will it just show me revs and not operate so its just like a taco with no changes to the stock ecu settings????

When you mean 'unplug' the VAFC, I hope you mean unwire the whole thing properly. If you haven't unwired the whole thing and just disconnected the VAFC unit from the harness then I would advise you plug it right back in and leave it.

If you're unwiring it yourself, I hope you realise you don't just disconnect all the VAFC wires and be done with it. You have to reconnect 3 or 4 wires. Otherwise your check engine light definitely should come on. And NO it won't fix itself if that's the case.

And what is this business with ONE of the plugs?! The VAFC is either fully plugged in or NOT plugged in. Why on earth would you want to semi connect it?! If you want to use it, use it properly, otherwise you're just playing with fire.
