Can anyone do them? I havent got a new bike yet so havent purchased a stunt cage either but can anyone stunt on their motorcycle?

question
say i was doing a wheelie and landed roughly and tank slap, would the steering dampener ELIMINATE the tank slap? or just reduces the percentage of getting a tank slapper? Has anyone got advices for doing power wheelies? any what bikes do you do them on

very expensive hobby. i know.

i know how to do a wheelie, and a small stoppie, and i also know how to ride the tank, jsut sit on the tank at ridden it all the way up orange grove, not too sure about the steering dampener, practise this on a smaller bike before purchasing a bigger bike and doing it, i practised all this on a cbr250rr good bikes :P

LMAO how long yuo been riding for? it tok me 6 months to actually keep gunning it and shit, just don't shit it the bike wont flip back just make sure you dont pop the clutch at the lights, just ride on first gear around 8 k, release throttle, slam the clutch in, throttle all the way up, and go with the flow just keep practising

keep the rear brake covered incase you over extend , rev , drop clutch and use your body and power to find the balance point , its actually really hard to flip it when your learning

bike and power are meaning less, cause i can pop up the front wheel on a postie and a scooter and hold it up for ages

theres no need for standing up on pegs either, i can do it on a 250 but not hold it and ride with it LMAO probably only 2 seconds you will shit it when you start doing it but it wont flip unless you pop the clutch at the light slOL

you can pretty much get any bike up with the clutch but its no good for it. so i wouldnt say its meaningless

if i had enough power you wouldnt need clutch providing your on the right gear yeh?

FASN8U

with decent power you wont need the clutch , lift her up in 2nd and gear through the wheelie

High powered bikes will just come up as you roll the throttle on...
250's on the other hand, they need your weight shifted off the front of the bike..
I used to do them standing on the footpegs as it was alot easier to get it up, I could never manage to get the front wheel up if I was sitting on the seat.

Steering damper... I don't think they have much to do with the suspension, so I doubt it'd help in the case of a wheelie? But regarding the tank slapping, I assume that if the handlebars move as you bring the bike down, they would aid in any wabbling and tank slapping.

As for the power wheelies... Do you mean rolling at high speed and popping it up? Or just popping the bike up through rolling the throttle...?

well realy 250's arent much good for stunt bikes in the first place

so on the 250rr which gear would the the wheelie attempt be in?? 1st?? so jst ride till 8k pop the clutch and rev to redline and dump?? u sure it wont flip back if u pull the bike towrads u or sitting too far back on the seat??

my mates been trying for ages on his 250rr bt onli gets porb 10cm off the ground

i do it in 1st or 2nd, ride 8k, pop the clutch and full throttle on,and it will lift up you have to keep practising it, theres n oneed to stand on the pegs, it wont flip back it's pretty hard to flip back, sit more towards the front on the bike,

Henessaayyy

You dont pop the clutch at redline.. I used to pop the clutch at about 10-12k and it'd come up abit... I never managed getting it up high whilst sitting on the seat, I used to practice my wheelies standing so I could shift my weight a little more to the rear...

I found it easier getting the bike up while standing...

To make life easier, get your bike tuned and get a new clutch.. It should come up very easily...

okay .. . what can i say abou this topic.
im still learning but to become a good stunt rider you have to stack it.
to earn your mistake.
with my bike i pop a lil wheel, not big like someone i know.
BTW a guy that got the same bike and name as me can pop a wheelie like 600cc and 1000cc.

if ur on a 250 dont rely completely on the clutch , youl have to transfer you weight back abit as you lift it up . get in 2nd mid-high revs then pop the clutch once the wheel leaves the grounds full throttle it and transfer your weight back a alittle bit at a time

na-118
08-11-2008, 01:28 PM
obiously you can pop it on 600 and 1000 for sure no need for clutch work, you obviously need a good clutch to pop a mono, and a good tune to yuor bike, theres no need to lift the bike up just go with the flow. then obiouvsly when you throttle on your weight will shift back anyways

easy my friend, if you select 1st gear and hold the gear leaver down it acts like a clutch, simple rev , release the gear lever , lean back a lot and catch as it comes up and hold the balance point

ben, im just wondering ... by off street do you mean dirt?
or like.. private roads...

because we're all in discussion about road bikes.. and its very dangerous doing stunts on dirt tracks with a road bike... you wouldnt want to be held liable for any injuries would you? ;)

bennjamin
12-11-2008, 12:14 PM
read into it.....i mean off street. Anywhere that is legal to do stunts etc. Either at a track , drag strip or private property.

Whatever bike you choose to use , its YOUR problem. I just dont want people talking up about ON STREET speeding or risk taking or stunts etc.

is it okay if i talk about it if i do it in my street?
or is that still illegal?

when im on my quad, i like to ride on the back wheels lol
took a while to get confidance in bike and how to do it, but once you get it it is alll goooood..

i dno about street bikes but when im on the back wheels, i have to pulse the throttle.

another trick i can do but not to good at is riding on the two wheels on the same side. thats pretty hard/ scary

How you wheelie depends on how what bike you have, on a CBR1000 all you do is snap on power from about 7k and its easy, just cover the back brake in case you get in trouble.
