just noticed this ad today:

http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/HONDA/INTEGRA/New%20South%20Wales/csn6400157.aspx?State=NSW

In the ad, it mentioned "Notice its rare 2.5 litre factory upgraded engine"

Now, I have search this forum, Honda's site, read the sales brouchure, wikipedia, but I couldn't find any mention of option to upgrade your engine by the "factory" (which I assume is the manufacture/dealer?) for the DC5 range.

is this guy on drugs? or just trying to sucker some noobs in?

I am not really familiar with the after market scene, is there such engines avialable from Mugen or some other manufacturer?

thx for replies, glad to hear I am not the noob :)

and just for shits and giggles, a while ago I saw an auto DC5 which was advertised as a Type-S, and comes complete with the Type-S badges too :)

I wonder if it is one of those car sales scams like they reported on Today Tonight recently. They get you to put your deposit down and then they disappear.

Hahaha 2.5L engine. I'm surprised he didn't top it off with a fully sick turbo and RWD!

Come to think of it, TODA do provide a 2.5l turbocharged engine for the dc5. But there's nothing factory about that!

I like it how he says "Notice its rare 2.5 litre factory upgraded engine" like we are meant to assume it from the photos of the cars exterior.

Yup one and only k24

That's 2.4L then. Not 2.5L. Is this your car?

That's 2.4L then. Not 2.5L. Is this your car?

is it possible that its bored slightly to increase it's capacity to 2.5L?

is it possible that its bored slightly to increase it's capacity to 2.5L?

Then it is no longer a "factory upgraded" engine.

If you are selling a Type S with a supposed 2.5 litre engine that is "factory", and this guy is obviously interested/curious, maybe you should explain?

..or not.

I'm pretty sure people would have asked about it.
Stating the car has a 2.5L factory engine provides us with enough information that he doesn't know anything about Hondas leading to my assumption that he isn't on ozhonda lol.
