That's good. Cheap oil is better than low oil!

if you have 10w30 oil and you top up with like 10w40 what happens to your oil exactly?
does it become 10w 30.2 or something?

LOL

Not sure, but I can tell you now that my engine currently has 1L of Elf 5w-30, 1L of Mobil 10w-40 and 2L of Castrol 5w-30 as an experiment. :)

Yup, runs great since all my car does now is street driving and a few redline runs a day. Nothing major. Will hopefully get to try it out on the track in November.

the s2k will chew thru oil quicker than the other hondas you've had to check it regularly

really?
i haven't read about oil usage for other hondas but my prelude vti-r goes through around 700ml every 1000km. might be a little less now around 500-600ml. i haven't had a chance to measure things properly yet.

is the s2000 worse??
lol

pretty sure its fine to mix oils.. as long as they are somewhat similar or not at a ridiculous viscosity level.. im not 100% sure about this but i think that if the oil doesnt show up at all on ur dipstick.. then you have rougly 1lt left ... so no need to panic and think that there is none at all :)

When you hit 3L remaining of the original 4.4L, it is time to panic. If you have 1L left, I wouldn't buy your car 2nd hand. LOL :)
