my EK was running fine until just now I couldn't start it ... i had a crank sound followed by some "click click click click" sound from the engine...
I am going to try jump starting the car with my EU as the donor car... just before I do something wrong ... I am wondering ... after I connect the cables on my EU, should I clip the Positive terminal first or negative first?
Thx

1. Clamp one cable to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery. Don't let the positive cable touch anything metal other than the battery terminals.
2. Connect the other end of the positive cable to the positive terminal of the good battery.
3. Connect one end of the negative (-) cable to the negative terminal of the good battery.
4. Connect the other end of the negative cable to metal on the engine block on the car with the dead battery. Don't connect it to the dead battery, carburetor, fuel lines or moving parts.
5. Stand back and start the car with the good battery.
6. Start the stalled car.
7. Remove the cables in reverse order.

if the car is manual and a jump starter is not available, stick it in neutral, drop the handbrake, push it until its at a good speed (downhill works best) then quickly jump in clutch down, first gear, release clutch while flooring the accelerator (like you normally would in a drag). if your motor starts, then you successfully push started it. if your motor doesnt start... hope you werent downhill with a house at the end...

should really be in 2nd gear and no throttle at all. (safest)
The compression of the engine will start the car alone.
If you keep it in 1st and full throttle , when the motor actually starts it will likely jump off erratically (being high rpm in the shortest gear) and possibly cause an accident out of your control.

So you'd just clutch dump it from 2nd whilst at a moderately quick roll to get the jumpstart going? Do you need to do anything to the ignition?

do this
aim car at slope
place into 2nd gear, clutch in
turn key to ignition on. Dont "start".
roll car (push from behind) and when the need to , pop the clutch out and the engine will BANG into life.
