in think it's because of the high flow of gas compare to stock.

i was told that once the defouler is installed, the car still needed to be retuned in order for the light to be off permanently....

most people either used defouler or i think some people even placed an extra gasket betwen the cat and the exhaust. Although i think cels still come on despite making the additions.

Does the CEL induce a limit on the rev's?

I got myself an OBDII tool off ebay just to clear any CELs that may come on. None just yet...touch wood!

BTW. you cant tune a stock ecu.

Install the defouler (it is just an extension between the post cat O2 sensor and the piping. Then clear the CEL using an OBDII scan tool. Done.

waht's cel and OBDII???

OBDII = on board diagnostics. It a computer-like systemt which records the malfunctions as a code so that we can diangnose what and where the problem is. The ODBII scanner is plugged in the pin socket under/near the steering wheel. The scanner reads the code to determine what the problem is (eg. what's causing the CEL light to be on).

CEL = check engine light

Thats all i know. Someone help clarify if i got any of the info mixed up :)

those OBD 2 scanner will scan and read any error code that your car threw up and using the scanners it will delete the error codes but ....if the car still having the problem then still the CEL will lit up again until you've fix it :D

Find out the thread and pitch of the O2 sensor that is connected after the cat. Get a thick walled stainless steel tube and tap female threads on one end and male threads on the other end. That is your defouler.
