Hi guys,

Just a quick one:

Looking to buy something newer than my eg.

Integra DC5 semi-automatic or manual? I prefer a manual but I am finding them hard to find in my price and km's range. I don't care about the extra weight or stuff, just want to know if its a quickish shift or just a gimmick.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: sorry forgot to mention it'll be a lux model not type r or s :P

Thanks for the help but dc5 not really all that 'performancy' anyhow.

Will be using it to primarily daily and occasional trips (nothing extreme). I like the control with a manual really cbf with clutch, I just hate those crappy laggy semi's. Is the DC5 like that?

go test drive both and see what you think... your the one buying the car and driving it, so your the one that should make the decision.

If it is a Honda autobox with selectable gears (aka semi-auto mode), then it will still be laggy. It won't be as quick as a manual or as a computer controlled clutch manual (BMW SMG)

i drove both semi- auto and manual b4 i got my DC5 Luxury - the seimi auto seemed very slow when manually changing gears. I went with the full manual and love every minute of it!

hence why u get a manual. unless u have a beamer or farrari or one of those high standard european car. its hopeless =[

its actually not that laggy imo, i used to own one...and it wont upshift automatically at redline. it wasn't too bad as a daily, but wasn't powerfull enough for me...

i bought the semi-auto because i'm lazy.. sick of driving manuals and prefer to cruise.. LoL
Manual mode isn't too bad, but i hardly ever use it, only use it to hold onto revs.

it's also a tad more fuel efficient than the manual (although not much). Very fuel efficient overall with enough performance, reliability and fun. it's great!

City: 8 (L/100km)
Hwy: 5 (L/100km)
i normally fill up around 550-600kms on a 50 tank with a tad to spare.
with some spirited driving and lots of stop starting...

same with me!

but as a daily the auto is fine, if you don't crave for outright speed.
i've done alot of suspension mods to my auto dc5 and many friends are surprised that i can actually keep up with them around the twisties in their DC5R at the time.
