i've got a 5th gen prelude.
it came with one key and a remote to unlock the door. i have no idea what alarm it is. it just beeps once when locked, twice when unlocked and the alarm goes off if any doors are opened.

i know of a few places that can create a spare key for around $50.

anyways i was waiting outside a key cutting place recently and saw a poster about creating spare remote.

anyone had expriences with that before?

i probably need 2 remotes since my current remote looks like it might fall apart sometime soon.
or should i just install a new alarm system which should include a few remotes?

you need to find out what alarm you have in order to get a remote. did the car come with any instruction books etc.. or even open the bonnet and look at the alarm. should say on the side of it.
generally with after market alarms, you can get replacement remotes.

depending on the alarm, if its worth keeping i would just get a replacement remote. otherwise if its some cheap ebay brand that doesnt protect the car at all, then i would replace the alarm.
