mine r welded fibreglassed n bogged.

i did it myself n i got lazy sanding it.

my doors were warped already so wast too fussed.

but i have no mouldings or slots but keep 1 thing in mind

if u fill em in make sure u shave the insides of them becasue they touch if u dont and will crack or chip your paint.

Who ever done the welding must be shit then.

IMHO, don't bog it, if you want to make it flush, get it welded..

It's not nice when the bog ends up sinking as you will have to use a fair bit.

Don't forget also that if you bog then you will have to repaint the whole thing, or do a really good colour match/blend. If you are still trying to figure it out id sugest painting your mouldings to match your car. You would still change the look ie. blend in more, and then you could chose to go either way :)

Colour matching isn't that hard if you know what your doing.

True I guess, but... paint is expensive no? I just would have though before he does something drastic that he should try something simpler. It wont affect anything he choses to do in the long run thats all.

Maybe for some people.

I can get 5 litres of paint, 5 litres of clear, 20 litres thinners with sandpaper and what not for $350 :D

Amanda

Ok then since you are going to re-spray I would say do as you wish. Just have a good think because you don't want to regret what you do later on. Personally I dont like shaved mouldings... But if it floats your boat then go for it! :)

Do moldings even line up the same on every different car?

dirlok
25-11-2008, 09:07 PM
im actually planning to keep mine, but colour match. I take it all thats needed is a good sand, some plastic primer, paint and a clear coat? Shouldnt be too much work =/

as for you, if you are going to respray the car, I'd got for the shaved look...go on, bog it up (but do it right, weld first!)
