weird clicking noise

yo!
ders dis weird clicking noises on my left wheel wenever i drive. the clicking noises usually come up wen i drive on bumpy, lumpy roads lol and sometimes when i drive on a straight road lol! i dont think its the suspensions cause wen i go up ma drive way it doesnt make a noise :confused:

what about going around corners?
try doing tight circles in a carpark = noises = cv joint as far as i know :P

Sorry to hijack the thread but i have the same problem cept mine does it when i take off.
Think is the bushes that are busted but i got the front wheels changed last time and they didnt say anything about replacing bushes.

i have the same problem atm, I'm keen to see what you have done to fix it, after the rain mine have gone away, but it will come back I'd say, was like it for a good 1 or so before

yeah sometimes mine goes away and comes back with heavy clicking noises ay! and when i sit down on the left front wheel of my car and bounce on it and it makes the noise :S! u reckon ders a crack on the rims???

yeah when i turn as well it makes noises!
its pretty loud when i go on speed bumps as well even tho i go slow cause ma car is lowered :S!
u reckon its the coil overs cause i have them on..

If the noise happens particularly when you are turning sharp (almost or full lock) then its probably the CV, but if its happening over bumps and stuff I think something else (or maybe CV + something else) is happening. Check your wheel nuts are tight too!

agree i had the same problem driving faster than 20 over speed bumps, especially the real slim ones, (UQ centre ones) when my car was sky rise. it sounds like the some axel has hit and scraped the bumps. I went and checked it no scrapes what so ever, i think it's gotta to do something with the springs not coiling back fast enough (well i got no idea just a random though).

hmm i hear clicking sometimes as well but from my front right not left. Not when im turning, just sometimes on straight smooth roads, it seems to come n go

its a honda thing :P

It can range from:

Busted Bushings;
Busted wheel bearings;
Busted Engine mount (usually the whole car would vibrate when accelerating)
Screwed CV Joint,
Screwed Drive shaft.


Bring it to a mechanic.

does it make creaking sounds when u rock the car while still/parked? (cause mine does sometimes, only when its cold though..)

is it safe to spray something like silicon spray onto bushings?

u can try that.
also if u spray a bit of brake fluid into bushings im told that can help.

My CV shafts are on the way out and also makes a similar noise to what you guys are compaining of. You can check the condition of the CV joints but jacking the car up and jiggling the driveshaft up and down - you'll feel play in the joints if they are worn.

Mine have excess play in them, but they do not click on full-lock turns at all.
