thinking about it.

I'm about 12 months out from warranties end. i figure someone whould have bought before me.

i read the post from a while ago and the ones available that are mentioned there don't get to good a wrap against the SC kit. but then again it didn't get five stars either.

one of my mates from work said he saw a civic like mine (fd1) in that dark purple colour and he said he heard a bov from it... i wonder if it was true... and if it was true... i wonder who it was haha

See if anyone ownes up.

Just want to see what problems anyones had before jumping in.

Not keen on doing it blind.

yeah i know what you mean about going blind into it, i was also thinking of boosting it myself, but i wanted someone from australia to do it beforehand, was looking at the tsi kit but there are too many problems imo for us to handle and finding a tuner over here to fiddle with the AEM piggyback ecu? might annoying

*If* I was going to gown down the boosted path, I'd go to my local shop (999 Automotive in the trader section) and have them custom up me a kit... I don't trust these expenses-spared kits you can get from the US and china. Of course it may cost anywhere between 6 and 10k... but at least it would be much more reliable than the kits out there and they can tune it as well.

Haven't seen anyone here on OH with the purple FD... but they may lurk around, I doubt they have it boosted.

If only i had 10k to splash around but yea your right about that.

I've done all my previous work through BoostBitz and it's all been great so i know i can get the custom work organised. just a lot more expensive that the "ready made" kits.

Has anyone installed/running a turbo kit on an FD?

for R18 : the cheapest : zage. but you need combine HKS and Zage R18 Bolt-On Kit which is include
Tial Waste Gate
Greddy TYPE RS BOV
Front mount Intercooler
Zage TD04H Turbo
HKS Fuel Regulator
HKS Boost gauge
HKS Induced Suction Air Intake

bolt on to R18 engine with under 1 bar turbo (0.64) which is enough to work with stock pistons engine

wonder what the power gains are like? can beat wrx or evo? or skylines...haha...without changing internals? highly unlikely right...lol

Without changing internals i'd say it wouldn't be much more than about 50Kw?? just guessing but i think you'd still get eaten alive wrx etc. lol

I think if you really are keen on serious performance you wouldn't be driving the FD1 and would be more interested in waiting for the FD2R to come in (somehow...)

Jace.. that is the dumbest commect i have ever heard..i think if u want performance.. ur better off getting an fd2.. and altering the engine.. to make it perform better..

you guys should track your car sometime and not just buy parts for "street" use....

I just thought theres plenty stuff for R18 compare to the K20 on FD2... well... FD2 cant use K20 parts from Integra or EP3 anyway... :(

FallenAngel

Auto shouldn't be an issue really...

Main things for our car to get a decent time, is sussy mods, good tyres, plus experience and you would be set...
