Just say i bought a car, with one years rego, would i need to get another green slip?, or would that persons green slip transfer into my name? if it does transfer into my name, does that mean i wouldn't have to worry about rego and greenslip for one year? and if it does transfer into my name do i have to pay any sort of fees, besides the transfer fee obviously
thanks

Transferring and Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance
A vehicle's existing CTP insurance will be automatically transferred when the registration is transferred. You don't need to do anything about CTP insurance until the registration is due for renewal.

What if your a younger driver then the previous owner, e.g. my previous owner was 32.. and im 21... would i still be covered by the ctp in the case of an incident.? the ctp goes by the youngest driver in nsw.... so?

Correct, CTP and registration stays with the vehicle. Under the MACA Act a vehicle cannot be registered in NSW without a valid paid CTP for the term of the registration. So what will happen is when you transfer the registration at the RTA, they will electronically notify the insurer that a change has happenned, and the insurer will update the name and address details.
Some insurer will then send out a welcome letter etc, with a request for further information from the new owner to ensure that the Green Slip is appropriately priced upon renewal. Not many insurers will charge you an extra premium if you should be paying more, nor go the other way if you're entitled to a refund.
Under the MACA act no insurer is allowed to refuse a claim regardless of the information that you have given, or the truthfullness of your disclosure. However, it also affords the insurer the ability to attenpt to recover underpaid premiums if it can be proved that the information was incorrectly withheld, and they can actually cancel your registration if you dont pay. Also, upon claim, they may, depending on the accident, ask for a considerable contribution to the claim.

Soo what i gather from what you typed. Touch wood, if get into an accident, and the CTP hasn't any documentation of a driver under the age of 25. I would still be covered, however i may be liable for additional costs.

I didnt know which company i was with for my CTP till i got the renewal notice from NRMA like 2 weeks after my rego expired. I ended up going with QBE cause it was like $40 cheaper.

correct... but being that we are talking about injuries to people in your own car, i wouldnt be taking chances on ensuring i have the appropriate information on my policy and coverage as a result
