Excuse my ignorance but . . .
Honda brochure says lux euro has HID low beam and a std euro has Halogen type - but looking them they look same to me.

I have a std euro and the low beam is the funny looking one with no separate bulb visible and the blueish tinge to the colour - when not on it looks like a big cloudy fish eye (very technical I know). What is different about the low beam in the luxury?

as for my knowledge, the low beam is using halogen lights.. which has lower lumens than HID... and ... the fish eye thing is called projector lights... which is the same as the lux euro.... the got some advantages over the triditional head light using big reflector ... especially when using HIDs... but this ain't some new tech tho... as u can find them from very old bmws keke...

The difference is very obvious. The low beam on luxury models are heaps more brighter. You'll also find that they produce white light when warmed up although it's very blue-ish when you first turn it on.

both standard and lux models come with projector lenses. these lenses basically project the light emitted from the bulb downwards onto the road. same function as a reflector but this system works better. and that is why you can see a distinct cut off line for your headlights when shining onto a wall infront of you. they are also responsible for the bluish tinge in your halogen bulbs at that cut off point because of refraction.

both the hid and halogen bulbs in the euro are H1 size but the difference is that the hid has a seperate ballast system mounted in the engine bay just under the headlights somewhere...

the main difference between hid and halogen is that hid heats up gases in the bulb to emit light while halogens work like a normal light bulb and heat up a filament in the bulb to emit the light... and depending

or something like that...
