Hi all,
I am just after some ideas on how i can increse my hp on my civic a little.
I currently have a b16a import engine that is putting out 80kw atw not tuned for two months, with minor mods including cold air intake and cat back exhaust......
I have already purchased a new exhauts system including custom headers and full catback but would like to fix some internals up before i put it on.
I am after no more than 250hp at the flywheel.
I hve a race engine builder doing a port and pollish and replacing my valves and springs.
What else should i need to do get my goal.

I have a second engine aswell but stock and has 50,000 more k's on it than the one in my car so i am able to have the car on the road while my good engine gets fixed up.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

"HI all , i just want to get my civic to eat that darn vtir ! " :D

Hhehe , soz Craig ! Anyway...apart from that....b16b pistons ? Full port and polish ? Port inlet and outlet to match exact fro increased flow ? P+P throttle body ? increase compression ( new head gasket) ? New b16b cams ? Get a stroker kit ? ?

The list goes on...u need first of all a good aftermarket ECU/piggyback that can handle all these mods , and take advantage of them !

Get to it ! :P

I always thought that all the B16A's were somewhere above 80 KW? Like 118 or something?

Please correct me if I'm wrong :D

I'm surprised at that figure given that my SiR is absolutely stock and gets thae same figure at the wheels.

Buy Chuck's CRVTEC motor - that'll do the VTiRs ;)

ctr pistons n rings 700
spoon/mugen headgasket 200
ctr cams & valvesprings 1200

upped compression: priceless

also u need to invest in a standalone ecu
maybe a 2nd hand m4 or m48

with regards to yr "custom" headers, if they're cheap, throw them away :P

I also choose quality over price !! Things are expensive for a reason, not because there a rip off 99% there a much better product, why do things half arsed do it correctly the first time, so yeah I say stick with quality extractors ( exhaust manifold)

From what I've seen, a stock B16A manifold will flow as well if not better than cheapies.

TANGHY: I am not getting those of the shelf brands.
My headers are getting made to the same specs as the spoon headers but due to my lack of space in the engine bay i have had to get them modded a bit.

Blkcrx: As i said in my post the car hadnt been tunned thats why i have only 80kw atw. and i have a ****ed up warm up regulator which dosent help.

Thanks for all the suggestions people but i pick the car up on thursday after it gets a few small things fixed then its of to the engine builder.

I am getting it ported, new valve train, cams, gears and new computer.
Then ill c how i go from there.

Ill post all detail with the dyno runs when its finished.. should be done by jan.
