A group of us are doing an install on a friends car, he is looking to have the interior neons fire off with the bass.

What is the part required?

I know they are available but don't know what the part is called.

havent seen such modules being sold seperately, but I know streetglow have it... but be aware that flickering/switching on and off the neons will shorten its lifespan....

http://streetglow.com/site/modules.multifunccontrolsys.php

I used to have 2 sets, one in the boot, one under the front seats, both have problem after one/two years of usage. It still works, just need some time before it spark to life... after that it will work like normal. It wasnt being switch on much anyway.

Sorry, just make sure i understand.

Plug the neon power directly into the amp output?

The way i understand what was said is that you plug it into the power cables going into the amp...and as the amp draws lots of current to punch out bass, the neons will cut out as they wont get the current required...and when the amp is not drawing huge currents the neons will light up...so the current tends towards the path of least resistance...

but i may be wrong...

So if we were looking to get the neons to light up with the bass hit that wouldn't really be the way to go about it.

if the neons come with the ciggarette attachemnent thing, cut that off, so whats left is a positive and negative wire. plug them into the positive and negative terminal where your going to plug your speakres in

safer bet, get a sound module. don't know about the current and shit going thru your amp, if it worth risking getting a component fried. jaycar has these modules,

**QBALL EDIT - No selling/advertising for newcomers**
