IMO the only real way to find out is take a ride in a car with one or the other (same car as yours) and have a feel what you like better.

In my Opinion, I'd choose TEIN over Buddyclub. TEIN has been around for a while and they only focus on suspension. They're Japan made as well. While Buddyclub just came out of the blue and it's Taiwan made.

Need to be more specific on the different type of models. ie Tein Monoflex, SS?

But Aris in reality Buddy Club was Japanese owned untill they went broke.
The new Taiwanese owners have just kept the quality of there products.

TEIN MONOFLEX is the shit!
got them on my car atm.. and it owns.. NOT stiff ! but handles very very well...
unlike the previous set i had.. too stiff.. and handled like lloyds AH
LOL.
but yeha.... stiff doesnt necessarily mean CRAZY HANDLING ULEH.... but i say how well it absorbs to the surface. i love my mono flex.
and dont get confused by the tein flex and tein mono flex
both very differnt
mono flex owns!

Anyway to keep this on topic - i will speak on experience.
I have had tein SS and buddy club N+
Tein ss is a old design and single level adjustable , not that great.
I currently have the latter , and they are fine for everyday use with alittle track work. Will lower or raise to whatever height you want.

i just recently got SS so once mr ben :D installs them i will tell u how they feel but i heard its bang for buck good qaulity obv mono flex is far much greater then SS but if u got a budget i believe everyone would recommend SS but then again everyone would say save abit more and get monoflex or flex or other brands

I had SS on my EJ8. great daily, very comfy, stiff-ish when i wanted it to be. however still didnt cut it for any type of track work (without me having to actualyl go on a track) . i was coming from a koni/neuspeed setup on my big fat accord, whch handled better lol.
however perhaps wtih an asr + thick sway, the SS might be just good enough.

Don't bother with the Buddyclubs. They are crap. Tein > BC. I would get the Tein Monoflex if you are after track work etc. Very nice for street too. Overall a very verrrryyyy nice coilovers.

obviously. Ofcourse your opinion was as broad as the original question !
Try explaining with your experiences of both , base thru to top level rather than a blunt response. It will help the OP make their decision.

Sorry, I was comparing BuddyClub Racing spec to Tein monoflex.
IMO, Tein SS, can't be compared to BC N+.
I have had Buddyclub Racing spec. I like to call them a "try hard" racing suspension. I personally think the springs rate don't match the dampers, and that the dampers lack stroke. They are just too stiff, but not in a good way. I have tried them at Wakefield, and didn't like them. If you were to ask 95% of known garages what they think, they would also share my view. These also started getting noisey and softer after 12,000km's and 1.5 years.
I have driven a DC2R and 2 EK's with Buddyclub N+. I think these are better than Racing Spec. Seems like the springs match the dampers well, and they aren't stupid rock hard for no reason. They feel like they have slightly more stroke and are great for the street, and occasional track work.
I have driven a DC2R and a 180SX with Tein Monoflex, and each time I was blown away by their stroke and the way they absorb bumps, but still manage to stay firm. I guess that the MSV (micro speed valve) that they have. Well worth the money. Tein FLEX (not monoflex) is great too. I have sat in a DC2R with them, but can't comment too much as I didn't try them out myself.
I have driven a DC2R and an 06 impreza with Tein SS, and tbh I think these are downgrade from the stock DC2R suspension. They are too soft to slap on and play with height. It seems it very hard to get the balence of the car right. It's easier to be happy with car balence with coilovers with harder springs.
I now have Zeal Function X, and I can say they rip s**t through all of the avove.

Remember you have to add another $150-200 for EG6 or DC2R rear LCA's to fit the majority of coilovers to suit your car (DC2R or EG6 type)
IMO within that price range , look at buddyclub N+ , with the correct rear lower fork style mounts to suit your civic (rather than pay the $150-200 more as mentioned above)
What do monoflex retail for guys ?

brand is important but whats more important is getting the coilovers tuned. you can buy the best coilovers and still have the shittest ride comfort and handling.

LOL, too much given the exchange rate. But I think around $1800 now without shipping from PerfectRun. I have found them to be the cheapest.
Of course, there is always JDM concept...and Leo can get you what ever you want at great prices. :D

i got my monoflex cheap 2nd hand. $1400 5000kms travelled.. and when they arrived they looked mint.
best upgrade.. from tein HA's
well balanced coil overs.
ive also removed my 22mm rear sway bar and it still holds very well..!
so i might just run my car without sways....

Much diff between tein monoflex and flex? And installation on these is easy or recommend a shop to install?

Monoflex is the improved / new version of flex

Monoflex is monotube design. Flex is twin tube.
Valving might be different. Monoflex features Micro Speed Valving (MSV) to improve ride quality/comfort.
From my experience they are pretty easy to install, but a wheel alignment is recommended after install. If you aren't confident just get them installed by a trusted workshop.
