hey guys im lokking at putting a ful exhaust on my EM1 vtir (B16A) and just want to know whats better in headers? 4-2-1 or 4-1?

can anyone tell me the advantages and disadvantages of each, im looking for the best perfomance gain all round

also what size piping should i get for the rest of the system (again the best performance wise)? would a hi flow cat do me any good also?

i did a search but didnt find much so your help is appreciated

thanx in advance...

I believe general consensus from internet advice (;)) is roughly a good 4-2-1 header, high flow cat and 2-2.25" mandrel bent catback system with a straight through (aka loud as all fark) muffler? :)
For the "best" performance you might even wanna go loudER and hardcore underaxle styles and milk that extra bit of flow ;)

Good luck with the b16a.

it has been covered alot of timessss... but yea

simply put in my opinion, for gains all around, 4 > 2 > 1s are best equipped with a 2.25" mandrel bent catback exhuast + hiflow cat + low restriction sports muffler...

Id say go for the JDM 4-1 with 2.25" cat and cat back for a nice top end gain.

You could go the 4-2-1 and hope for some more low-mid gain but everyone already knows the b16a aint ever going to be a low down torque monster. Make the power where the b16a is most fun to drive 6-8000rpm :D

yeah man, bout $900 for a t28 turbo and my mate makes manifolds, he'll do the manifold for under $500, what u mean "sif 2g's"!

yeah then u would need piping fmic.. and the most expensive Ecu.

hahaah hey nobbs.. get some prices.. i was planning to go turbo before... i reckon it could be done fairly cheap... its just the ecu issue of about 2k which i cant justify.

my mate is a mechanic, starting up his own business, he said he'll sponsor me with labour so all i have to do is buy parts, i rekn i could probably find a second hand ecu somewhere just to run my fuel....

but atm turbo is nto an option as i have other bills i have to pay first

if ya planning to stick with NA...
get a branded exhaust... they generally make 3-4kw difference to the the very best of custom type exhuasts.

The most important part of a honda's zorst is the extractors. they make the biggest differnece...
