haha that's a start :P
basically you just need the right tools.
get a torque wrench/ratchet and one of them spark plug removers which you can get from any auto place.
you just gotta make sure you don't overtighten it =)
a lil googling wouldn't hurt :p

can i ask how you did that exactly? and what is "low"?
was the engine on or off?
because the alternator overall dictates the running voltage of the car and there is an acceptable range as ;ong as it generally doesn't exceed 14.4v...
and if an engine is not running and the battery doesn't report 12v despite idle/drive charging then the battery is generally defective
this has nothing to do with spark plugs.. even if your plugs are fouled, battery charge is dictated by engine revolution

you can go to pretty much any repco outlet and ask them for proper spark plugs. Just make sure you know the model of your car and engine.
Platinum plugs are longer life and supposedly give a better spark with the two tips instead of the one but they all do the same thing i guess

should state your spark plugs to suit your car , on a placard under the bonnet.
