hi guys, just wanna confirm a few things.
1. A CTR LSD will fit straight into a b16 or b18 box with a 4.4 FD.
Been advise that this is the correct thing but just wanna confirm. Before i go out and get one.
2. Is there any way to identify a CTR LSD from a ITR LSD?
3. Does anyone know the part number of the CTR LSD?

I dont think a CTR LSD will fit into a B16a gearbox using the original final drive ring gear. Should be straight swap into a VTiR B18c gearbox though.

Yeah, this is something you will need to double check. I could be wrong, but AFAIK the B16a and LS ring gears have a different bolt pattern compared to the VTiR B18c/ITR/CTR differentials.

Perhaps someone else can comfirm.

B16 uses the smaller diameter ring gear...GSR/ITR/CTR use the larger diameter http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2392508&postid=35613190
From my understanding this is the general feel. I think the LSD from a CTR & ITR are identical. Can someone come up with the part numbers to clarify this?

Just that the GSR (dc2 VTIR), CTR & ITR have a bigger diameter FD even though they have different teeth for their ratios.

Hopefully this is correct but would be good if someone has done this can confirm?

The LS and B16A2 non-lsd share the same diameter and pcd ring gear (in terms of aftermarket lsd support), but the pinions are not interchangeable.- Ring Gear -

ok been told by an expert that the CTR & ITR LSD units are different.

The CTR uses the older ITR LSD (4.4FD)
The newer 98+ ITR used a different LSD

So everyone is on the same page,
Any OEM Honda LSD will not fit in B16A2 gearbox. (FD Ring gear won't fit)
The final drive ring gear is different inner diameter.
B16B / B18C LSD can be used together with OEM B16B or B18C 4.4 final drive in B16A2 gearbox.
98 Spec AUDM DC2-R LSD with 4.7 final drive requires change to 1st counter gear, gear bearing & collar to be able to use.
