planning to get one myself.. but the problem is with type r wings is you'll lose the option to spray water on the back screen ay? or does OEM come with that function

it really comes down to money i guess? cause reps can be bought pretty cheap.. well usetoo not now with the US money. lol
no it doesnt matter if its replica or genuine, its all up to you man. its your car, your money. People buy genuine to try and make it as close to an EK9 as possible

the replicas are obviously replicas of the genuine one, so they would look almost identical.

replica ones sometimes dun fit properly and when u open hatchboot itll hit the roof .. can fix by cable tying the middle part down on some replicas .. and also the water spray thing can be arranged to still work, just all comes down to fitting it etc .. i got replica, havent had a problem at all

as above the main difference is fitment. genuine parts, your guaranteed a perfect fit. where some replicas will leave a gap or touch the roof, however you can find good replicas that fit like oem.

geniune ek9 wing doesnt come with 3rd brake light, some replicas do, some dont, replicas you can get it in fibreglass, or carbon fibre.
expect to pay high price for 2nd hand genuine, replicas on the other hand brand new would cost about $300-350, 2nd hand obviously cheaper.

genuine is better all round compared to the replica! worth that extra money.
remember u buy the replica then u have to paint it... which normally = the ammount for a real one.

i have replica wing which i bought from ebay cheap($140)..Had some fitment problems, the bolts on the wing didn't fit with existing holes on the car so i had enlarge them to fit. Fits perfect now but i have spray it and fabricate mount for wiper spray. Too lazy to go get paint match and DIY spray it, i need a booth and equipment. Boooooo!! more expenses..broke assssss!!!

yep, used to have replica one, fitting problems and distorted under the heat.
cos made out of cheap fibreglass. Now I got the genuine ones, made out of ABS and much lighter.
you can clearly see the difference from the base, between gen and reps.

OEM=Genuine

OEM EK9 spoiler is a genuine EK9 spoiler. check the base when you received it. make sure its an ABS plastic. cos some ppl claim its genuine, but they made out of fibreglass (another one of my experience)
