hey everyone..

just curious is there any site that is able to tell you by inputting the vin, if any vehicle has been in an accident? i know revs tells if it has been a repairable write off etc.

for ppl that cant tell by looking at a car if its been in a serious one... might be useful?

well bad hits can still sneak past revs.

take a panel beater with you.. and they should be able to tell if any bad hits.

bent rails, shithouse panel alignments.. and so on!

u can go to http://www.revs.nsw.gov.au/..i usually check there first n has saved me a few times

Type in the details n it gives you the info on what u need to know about the car (if any) e.g. like, was it a write off, money owing etc...

by knocking on the panels you should be able to tell if it the panel has been repaired or not.

most cars out there have had a bingle and or repair of some sort.
REVS is there , only for cars that have been registered as repairable write offs or write offs. Any car thats been repaired privately , can still be on the road out there even tho it might be unsafe.

Do thorough tests on the car visually and while driving it to make sure its fine

some car makers are able to tell you whether the car has been written off even though revs didnt list it as a write off.

Sis brought a Mazda 2, didnt come up on revs that it was written off until we did a service at Mazda. They told us its been written off and repaired.

Revs cant be relied on. When a car gets written off, the insurance company who covers the damage vehicle does as much as it can to disguise the vehicle as a write off.

So if your really keen to know, go to honda and ask about the history of the car.

^^ definently call honda.

or you could try going into a police station. if an accident was reported(even small ones) they can do a background check on the car for you and it will show up on records...... if they can be bothered
