hey guys, tried searching but couldn't find anything.

what are the differences between a dc2r and a 98 vti-r?

besides rear seat, recaros, steering wheel, carpet, floor mats and carbon fibre inserts?

also is the vti-r interior black?

thanks for the help guys.

- Central arm rest between the 2 front seats is non existant in Type Rs.
- Cluster is different
- Shift boot
- Gear knob
- Passenger sun visor does not have vanity mirror in the Type R
- Door trims have a darker fabric in the Type R versus the DC2.

You've pretty much named all the differences.

Type R cluster is different
Type R has no sound deadening (to save weight)
Type R has struts as standard

That's about it.

The lighting on the centre console/dash is orange on the type r's whereas on the gsi/vtir its an off green color.

Ok, well either way, the integras air con was an optional extra up until 95...
From 96 onwards, it became a standard.
Because all AUDM type r's are 98+, this meant that all AUDM dc2rs have air-con as a standard feature.

Well until proven wrong, you can refer to mine as well :)
Theres a couple ppl on here that work for Honda so perhaps they can shed some light on the matter.

Afaik, only the early model type r's had "optional" air con - all late models were standard.

ok, so pretty much what you will need Vamppzzzzz to convert your 93 DC2 integra vtir interior to a Ausdm DC2R or a JDM DC2R.

AUSDM DC2R

- Gear knob (Ti)
- Sun visor (no mirror)
- Door trims (Black material)
- Cf interior bits ( ac unit, ashtray, shift surround, drivers vent and window switches)
- Passenger side air bag (dash can be changed to 98 spec dash or you can cut a hole (template under dash) to put a dummy airbag.
- DC2R floor mats (optional)
- DC2R momo airbag steering wheel
- black parcel shelf
- plastic false floor (boot)

JDM 96 or 98 DC2R

air bags and abs was an optional feature for the 98 spec type R

- Sr3 Recaro
- Black Floor Carpet
- Black and red stitching rear seats
- DC2R arm rest delete (between Seats)
- Hand brake button is grey/gunmetal instead of black
- Dc2r cluster (cf backing with yellow needles and an extra 500ish rpm and different Print)
- Gear knob (Ti)
- Sun visor (no mirror) jdm writing on them
- Door trims (Black material)
- Cf interior bits ( ac unit, ashtray, shift surround, drivers vent and window switches)
- Flare holder/Flare
- Drivers side compartment ( under drivers vent)
- Fog light button
- Passenger side air bag (dash can be changed to 98 spec dash or you can cut a hole (template under dash) to put a dummy airbag. ( optional 98 spec)

I've discovered a/c was a dealer fitted option on all DC integra models, guess it made the starting price more attractive as it was already more expensive than the competition.

According to NRMA

97 onwards DC2 VTi-R had dark blue seats. In my opinion, the original black ones were nicer.
