Hey Guys,

I have a Viper Alarm installed on my car. I had 2 keypads, until recently - where one was misplaced.

I was wondering how I go about getting another alarm keypad (remote start) to suit my car? What processes has anyone gone through before?

It's kind of important, to have a back up nevertheless - so any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

i think you can buy the remotes separately

ones with the screen is pricey though, somewhere like $100/ea

not 100% sure whether you can program it yourself though
let me know how you go with that, might need a spare one myself soon :(

edit; heres one (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DEI-479V-Viper-2-way-Replacement-Remote-car-alarm-791xv_W0QQitemZ230293956597QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m230293956597&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318)
but like i said, pricey :(
it's like 1/4 of the cost of the friggin unit when i bought mine

Luckily, I don't require the screen one.

Any idea how hard they are to configure?

well thats all the help i can dig up at the moment dude, you could probably get the remote shipped by them but you'd have to find a guide online to program it to your alarm though :)

go to your local car audio specialist to get it configured

i don't think programming of the remotes is that hard. I read up about it some time before and if you get the instructions its all pretty easy. From memory you just need to do a combination of turning the ignition and pressing the remote button in a certain way so the remote can learn the alarm code.
