hi i want to put an ek9 red carpet in my ek4. will it fit straight in with my standard seats and rails or do i need to modify the carpet first.
i've looked through the forum and google but all i can seem to find is spare parts. has anybody done this upgrade? would love to hear if it's a simple mod..
thanks :)

Remove...
-Seats
-Centre Console bottom part + plastic leading up the the centre arm rest
-Foot rest in the driver side footwell
-Front quarter kick panels

That should expose the carpet enough for you to remove/replace.
Also, not 100% sure about the EKs, but in the Tegs, you had to snip the carpet behind centre console at the front of the car as the carpet is joined.

i put ek4 carpet in a ek1
straight fit, only i snip the carpet behind the centre console
you dont need to, but its quicker and no one sees that part once the cup holders go back in anyways.

all ek hatch carpets 96-00 are interchangable. doesnt matter wat model it its, or wat colour or wat seats were in the car. its all the same shape.. straight swap

if you dont know how to change carpet, then try it. it is like changing a lightbulb mate..

if you dont want to try it, then you shouldnt be driving a car..

i was thinking of buying an OEM ek9 carpet from JDM concept but the product it has been discontinued by honda.
i knew if i asked JDM Concept this question about compatibility, they probably would say it fits just to sell the product..
i was mainly just curious because the ek9 uses recaros so i wasn't sure if the rails were different/stronger and i didn't want holes where they weren't supposed to be. OEM look and feel was a big concern for me when making this mod.
thanks Q Ball, and to all who contributed.

oem ek9 carpet has not been discontinued
oem ek9 floor mat has been discontinued

i think people are confusing between the two.

actually i have turned down many sales because i know it would not fit and never sold items for the sake of selling items.

in fact we will tell upfront how long it will be to bring the goods in and not the standard "two weeks from japan" for every product knowing that it will take 2 months.

the floor carpet will take 2months at least because i dont have sea vessel shipment until jan 09.

the 2nd bit of your question i dont understand about recaro rails etc... but if i understand you correctly put it simply this way...

ek9 carpet fit fine on any ek. 4 door, 3 door, 2 door, no problem with whatever railings u want to use. oem honda ek9 recaro rails, bride rails, vision rails or whatever japanese brand rails.

hope that helps :D

jdm concept i think you are confusing between the two. i have an email from Leonardy which says "Honda japan has discontinued the carpet and they are no longer for sale anymore. sorry"
if you are still able to supply this carpet please have Leonardy send me a quote.
i didn't mean to stereo type your company, so i do apologise for that but instead of running the risk i asked a neutral party (OZHonda) for advice.
i will try to rephrase my concerns about the seat rails in a simple question. will my oem ek4 seat rails fit the ek9 carpet without modification to the carpet?
thank you
