just good road tyres for 15 inch rims on a crx del sol.

what are you using and what do you recommend?

i ran the RE001 at WSID, ran a 14s pass on them.

Gonna get the Dunlop Drezzi DZ101 to try next, if i manage to get a hold of Taleb

Methinks those are conflicting requirements.

Pick your priorities.

The older DZ101 is OK, nothing special.
There's apparently a newer 'star' version that's getting a good wrap in the states.

Not that I'm a tyre connosieur...

i think he's just trying to keep costs down. Semi & slicks can get pretty expensive

ye the cost is kinda a thing... but like i cant afford to have two sets of rims where i hav full slicks on one set and normal tyres on the other... i kinda need some good street tyres that i can also use everyday etc...

people have already suggested toyo t1r, re001 etc... i just wanna see what else is out there..

thanks for the replies guyss

Try Toyo Proxes R1R, ranks higher than T1R, but not Semi yet.

Perhaps using Semi choosing a harder compound and running higher pressure on street would be another option.

RE001 is an excellent tyre, it's silent, but wears quickly when pushed hard in my experience. I now have Yokohama AD07, it's in the next class up performance wise, it shows little wear when pushed very hard, handles high temps better, only negative is some tyre noise and availability. Not available through stores in 15's, a couple traders have them.

Preceda, not procedure :), just in case someone was trying to look them up.

have you thought about the falken rt615?

Not a full fledged semi slick like the toyos or others, so is still ok for road use.

From my experience kumho ecsta spt are not bad value for $$$$, had them on my dc2r, pretty happy, did 14.7 with I/H/E and than new owner (my mate) did 14.3 but he recons with bit more wear (they were pretty used) he could maybe brake into 13s so yeah not bad for money they cost, I still think driving/take off method has more effect on times than tyre (if we are talking about those average tyres)

RE-01R here. Good tyre. Good luck finding a set in 15".

Don't R888's need extra special loving? The kind of loving that driving on daily undoes?

^^^its not hard finding RE-01R if u know where to look. Alot of mesh wheels coming straight out of japan in containers have re-01r on them, because most are being used on drift cars also drags.

How much toe are you running and what's the tyre life from your experience?

Nick.
