gonna make up some new cables to replace my 12 year old ground cables on the rocker cover, gearbox and battery
generally the shorter the ground wire the better if i recall correctly
anyone had any ill effects from having longer cables for the gearbox and rocker cover ground cables? i.e. extending the cables to route them better out of sight
also how long can i go for the battery's ground cable until i start noticing effects?
going to be using some new 8ga cables for everything
also open to suggestions on alternate ways to ground things :)

I would recommend using 4GA minimum for most of ground upgrades especially if you are going to make it longer than the original cables. The original grounds in EKs are equivalent or if not larger than 8GA. But if you already got the 8GA, then at least clean up the screw mounts(sand the paint off until it's shiny bare metal for better contact with the terminals). If you have any left overs, you can always have double runs of 8GA ;)
Hope this helps.

yeah just a bit curious about extended lengths, not really necessary just wanted a cleaner look :)
was just wanting to run the bare minimum that i could so i'll be sticking to just replacing the stock 3 grounding points i.e. rocker, gearbox and negative terminal
as far as i know 8ga should be enough, i wouldn't be going overboard with extended lengths though probably <10cm or something

haha oo yea but the more u put , should be better i guess .. umm yea 8ga should would be way enough so yea , yea the length shorter the better but if you extend by 10cm dont think it wont be a problem.

yeah trying to decrease the amount of crap needed in my engine bay without too much compromise
wasn't looking to extend it like 1m just to hide the cable :p

ah sweet as claymore, just the answer i was looking for
just gonna extend the cables 10-20cm just so i can tie it off somewhere out of sight but keeping them easily accessible and allow for some stretching just incase :) will show results soon
