View Full Version : JDM Dc2r can't find the right drive shaft.

I installed jdm dc2r suspension (36mm) on my car (dc4 integra gsi) and i can't find a drive axle that will work. I tried taking a crv 36mm outer off and putting it on my shafts but the inner spline of the outer is too large for my shafts. Is there any other axle i can use or outer axle thats 36mm that will fit on? or am i stuck trying the find jdm ones? I am up for any ideas people have or some direction where to buy some aftermarket one.

the DC5R shafts are 36mm

i don't think they will fit with b series, they would be wrong length and not fit in the diff?

was thinking more along the lines of taking the outter bell and putting on your current shaft, or better yet get another jdm dc2r set, or try your local wreckers might get lucky

I am trying to find a set of 36mm itr's. After taking of the crv outer off and it didn't fit i would assume the dc5r outer will be the same and not fit on the shaft.

post up some pics of ur current drive shafts.

So what do u need exactly? mid shaft to go with the outer passenger side and driver side??

And what has suspension got to do with the drive shaft????

What motor did u put in?

If you need 36mm, find urself a set of 98 spec itr ones.

jdm dc2r = 36mm
ausdm dc2r = 32mm
ek9 = 32mm
if i recall correctly

you could use the 98 spec itr shafts which are 36mm like sir_vtec said.

I have standard gsi drive shafts which are 32mm nut. I was hoping there was some other 36mm outer cv joint (the part that goes into the hub) that would fit on my drive shafts. Im starting to think my only chance is to find some jdm itr shafts which are hard to find.

i would have just used the crv ones but they are too long so i took the outer off and the outer of my shafts and tried to put it on except the inner spline is to small

I never planned on putting the 5lug on my dc4, i planned it for the eg with a k24 utilizing the 36mm for stronger shafts but i totaled my eg.

jdm dc2r = 36mm
ausdm dc2r = 32mm
ek9 = 32mm
if i recall correctly

also don't forget jdm dc2r came as 96 spec and 98 spec models -
98 spec = 36mm
96 spec = 32mm

benny - what engine do you have in the car?

dc5r fits 98 spec 36mm hub - as it one of the options whens it comes to doing a k-swap with out the need to do a combination of k-series shafts/b-series parts to fit 32mm hubs.

Atm i still have the original engine b18b so i don't think i can use dc5r's because they would be wrong length? and the outer cv would be different inner spline not fitting on my original shafts like the crv ones didn't.

Am thinking more in the line of like markoJEK1 - using the outer joint part of the k series axle (36mm) and putting that onto b series axles??

or just go with ITR 98 spec shafts if you can find them.

dc5r drive shafts 36mm but will not fit a b series engine at all!

don't know what modding was done to the axles but there was a member on here with a EG that used 98 spec brakes and still had d16y engine in it.

Sure? well a K series shaft can fit B series outers, so i dont see why it cant be done :confused:

i think sir means the entire shaft not just the ends

in any case read the link i posted, says you can knock off a 36mm outer from an accord/prelude/crv and whack it on your current shaft

u mean the k series passenger side shaft will connect with the mid shaft no problems?

not just a stock k shaft, use k outer to fit 36mm hub and b inner to fit the mid shaft.
cut the boot and zip it back to combine.

I don't know how they are doing it with k series. It would be pointless for honda to have a bigger drive axle if the spline of the shaft was the same as a 32 where it meets the outer cv joint.

This guy says all hondas have same size splines of the shaft outer which is bs, I tried crv ones he says that i should have used accord or prelude outers (thats where i fked up)

Anyways i got the colour codes from some jdm itr axles and ordered a pair with new cv's from a1 axles . Should get them tomorrow.
