probably the alternator or starter motor is stuffed

Can you hear the engine crank??

If you can then check
-plugs
-leads
-fuel filter
-possibly fuel pump (can you hear it prime)?

If no prime, check the main relay.

If the cars not cranking check
-starter motor
-timing belt

Does you dash have lights up when selected to "ON"?
-possibly a bad ignition switch

Theres a few things to start with.

the ign control module in the distributor. That tends to crap out sometimes

check if your car has fuel

hey sorry, but this is too coincidental, my dc2r stopped turning on yesterday got a mechanic to have a look and its the coil from the distributor, when did you change your coil?? you say its new but maybe its dead check to see if it has any arc marks in it. could have misfired and killed it again

if it doesn't spark then dizzy and everything related to the sparking is your issue..

why is everyone saying check alternater and starter motor?

Anyways, try to get a hold of another dizzy and give it a go.. if it doesn't work check the ecu and wiring

ive read of issues with the actual ignition barrel of the car

not sure if this is the problem in your case though

it will be the ignitor which i believe over here u call the icm ignition control module. for every 1 faulty ignition barrel/burnt out coil i replaced a dozen ignitors.(i had 25 burnt out ones under my work bench at one point. which model ignitor is yours ? nec/oki or hitachi. honda discontinued one particular model of b series ignitor (i forget which one)because of th high failure rate they were suffering. i should probably point out my experience has been with the jdm models.(god bless nz and all the jdm godness that we get to drive)

do you have an aftermarket alarm system....could be your immobiliser...
i remember one morning i shit myself because the same thing happened to me i started playing around with the immobiliser button and it started working again.

checklist:
fuel
battery
alarm/immobilizer
steering lock
fuses in fuse box
plugs and leads
