Hey guys,
old man drives an Accord and he just an aftermarket headunit in it.

It's been in for about a year but now all of a sudden the headunit does not function. No lighting no nothing. However, it still ejects and takes in CDs.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Much help for the old man would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

the constant wire is ok, because the eject works. the acc. wire may be undone, (red). Bring it back to the person that put it in to fix it. Got a warranty on the work? Worse case it could be the stereo. What brand is it?

Cousins did it for me. I'll have a look at it tonight. Are we talking about the wires that are different colours. Like battery, ground and stuff?

The headunit is Sony so yeah..

Let me know, thanks bud.

Yeah, it does. I've made sure that is does make contact with the deck.
I'll have a look when I get home later.

Shat itself? What's that?

I was only backing up what you said, because I've seen this happen before, and the accessories is what was loose.

Boys, checked the wire. It's fine
BUT
I've noticed that my old man's amp is not lighted up.
There's two lights on the amp.. Red (Protection) and Green (Operative) but none of the two are lit up. Could it be fuse?

fuse probably a goner or a cut in the remote wire for the amp.

with the deck id guess loose wiring or dodgey wiring (craptastic tape job)..but you checked that. id like to learn the out come also.

check the fuse !

I've pulled out the fuses. They are 15As but I dunno how to check if they are gone or not. How do I know?

check the fuse as in see if its burnt out..if its blown, the little metal wavey thing you see in the fuse is broken and in that case lets no current through. but since its your amp, check your fuses on the amp block and the big huge golden one that comes off the battery on a lead, normally a big thick arse red one.

also check your ground wire and remote wire.

if amp doesnt work, its because your deck isnt on/working as the amp only turns on when deck is in use...(unless they did a bodgey job on the remote wire and looped it to a positive power.)

good luck on sourcing the problem.
