Hey guys,
Got a muffler its a 4inch tip and 3inch inlet, will it causes the car to lose its power?
thanks

Doubt it.. If your replacing a stock muffler.. than you might notice a little gain....im assuming its a cannon muffler with those dimensions? there more free flowing etc etc...you mite gain some low end loose some high end, or vice versa etc etc

everyone assumes the larger you go youll get more power... what you need to ask is how itll affect your power curve overall..
a cars exhaust pulses due to the nature of the engines expulsion of gases so these pulses determine the gains you will receive within the exhaust system..
im pretty sure honda made their stock exhaust sizing for optimum fuel/power.
especially around the low RPM range.
a stock diameter exhaust would allow exhaust pulses to pull each other along, in the low RPMs, this tight formation of pulses becomes an advantage as it keeps the them close together so they can pull each other through the exhaust reducing work the engine has to do to push it out. But as the RPMs rise, the pulses become closer and closer together, raising backpressure to restrict the piston in pushing out more exhaust gasses.
A larger diameter would increase the power you have in your midrange but in the end at the loss of some fuel economy in the lower RPMs (the pulses dont pull each other as much anymore as theres more of a gap) and the larger you go the further away each pulse gets from eachother.. reducing the ability of each pulse pulling eachother along.
optimum size would be around 2.5-3in for a nice mid range increase... the larger you go youll have more power in higher rpms but youll lose power & torque down in the low rpms..

thanks cb7 and dahon that helps me alot, i've just bought a varex 3 inch cannon so I will be installing it sometimes this week. So i would have more power in high RPM sounds alright.
once again thanks guys

no worries
is that the one where it has that switch to make it quieter?

Yup it is, it has the remote control so u can control the volume by close the blade inside in the muffler.....

the size of the piping and the route is more important to consider
than the muffler..

it must be an X-Force one yes?

u lose a bit of low end but gain highend. if u want to minimize power loss during low end. get a tuning pipe. its about 50bux per muffler and they tune it for u. otherwise get extractors and hi flo cat.

thanks for the response guys, I've just bought a twin loop system today and got installed but does any1 know the b pipe size? i assuming 2.25 or 2.5? need to know what size so i can get an aftermarket exforce high flow cat....
