What's the point. OEM throw is awesome on the DC2R. I have driven DC2R with short shift and it's crap. If your car is for drags then perhaps it's beneficial. Otherwise... I think it's a waste of money.

Agreed. The throw on the OEM DC2R is better than anything else that is aftermarket. I've tried quite a few that B&M ones okay but stock still feels better.

SS puts extra stress on your box.. And that thing gets put under enough stress as is..

oh really? shit i gotta say but the shifter on my b18c2 is pretty small anyway i wasnt sure how much shorter you could get with it..

They key is not reducing the height, its reducing the throw.
Making it shorter wont improve anything apart from looking sick bro

Not exactly. If a taken shfter was shortened in height you do in fact decrease the throw. But the effort in making the shift will also be increased.

Spot on Dean.
More force is required closer to the pivot point in order to shift. This is the pay off for a shorter throw.
friend had a vti-r, jumped in my car and drove my dc2r..1st thing he said was "omg the shifting is so short compared to his vti-r" -shrugs-

i'd say if you have a dc2r, no need for an aftermarket short shifter, its already perfect! if you have another spec dc2 for that matter, go and get one!

Yeh that is true, When i had my r33 it was shortened and it did reduce throw slighty but the way it shifted through gears was sh*t which was more noticable than any feeling of reduced throw.
Anyways like everyone said the type R shifter is great stock, go with some handling mods rather than fiddling with things that don't need to be touched.
